Chitwan, June 24: A woman was killed when a truck (Na 3 Kha 5474) collided head-on with a motorcycle (Na 23 Pa 7873) of which she was a pillion rider at Bharatpur Sub Metropolitan City-9 in Chitwan today morning.
Sita Kandel, 45, of Bharatpur Sub Metropolis-8 died on the spot, police said. Kandel was newly elected President of Kandel Nepal Women Association, Bharatpur Sub Metropolitan City-8.
Her husband Tulsiram, 53, who was riding the motorcycle when the accident occurred, was seriously injured.
Tulsiram is receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College, Chitwan, police said.
