Germany vs Poland

9:59:00 PM

Germany opened their EURO 2016 bid with a professionally taken 2:0 victory over Ukraine. Their opponents didn’t look naive and had their own chances, but the Germans played their game, were at the level they needed to obtain a three pointer and didn’t have to move out of the first gear in order to beat Ukrainians. Mustafi opened the scoreline in 19th minute, while the victory got sealed only during additional time with a goal from Schweinsteiger.

The team will surely now look to get better of Poland, with the team already feeling quite comfortable regarding their progress to the knock out stage, as they remain to play against probably weakest link in Group C – Northern Ireland. Defender Mats Hummels will miss here for them, which means that Shkodran Mustafi will continue to partner Jerome Boateng in the heart of their defense.

Low might name an unchanged squad here, giving another chance to Gotze in attack. Mario Gomez should settle with a place at the bench. Germans should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Gotze at the top of attack, but also Muller, Ozil and Draxler as his first offensive support behind him.-
